Ghana PrenaBelt Trial – on the home stretch!

Great news! On 02MAR2016, our team in Ghana recruited their 200th participant into the Ghana PrenaBelt Trial – a double-blind, sham-controlled, randomized controlled trial investigating maternal back sleep in late pregnancy as a potential modifiable risk factor for stillbirth and low birth weight. Our recruitment target is now 100% complete!

Kudos to our Principal Investigator, Dr. Jerry Coleman, and his all-star team at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital: Josephine Kwaw, Rose Quartey, Jemima Marfo, Joyce Dodoo, and Maxfield Okere! Also, thanks to our data team here in Halifax – Jesse Wells, Sarah MacRitchie, and Michael Butler! We are also indebted to our co-investigators, Dr. Heather Scott (IWK), Dr. Ali Borazjani (GIRHL), and Dr. Louise O’Brien (University of Michigan).

Having reached our recruitment target, we expect completion of data collection by the end of May 2016. The Ghana Team is on the home stretch!

All for now,
